OUR STORY
Raised on the Saco River, Murphy grew up with an abiding love of Maine’s woods and winters. An experienced professional carpenter, the inspiration for Snowcoast Saunas appeared during a cross-country road trip in a tiny converted Chevy Astro van. After several cold nights in the San Juan Valley of Colorado, he stumbled across a sauna — in just a few minutes, the therapeutic heat and peace of this wood-fired sanctuary alleviated the aches and exhaustion of life on the road. There on the bench, Murphy began to imagine creating his own sauna at home in Maine. After much design, development, and many “research” sauna sessions later, Snowcoast was born.
